Celebrity Showcase

In the run-up to the Grammys, Swiss watchmaker PIAGET honored MARY J. BLIGE and CHRIS ‘LUDACRIS' BRIDGES at an event to raise awareness for the National Runaway Switchboard, a federally supported program to help runaway and at-risk youth. Piaget created a special pair of "Fingerprint" earrings for Blige and a watch for Ludacris. The unique pieces were produced from an actual fingerprint that had been rendered in 18K white gold and then set with diamonds.

It was "V" for Versace as the late Gianni and Donatella Versace were honored on February 9 at the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style Awards. Actress KELLY PRESTON attended the event wearing platinum and diamond Snowflake earrings set with aquamarine drops by ERICA COURTNEY.

GERT HELLMUTH'S Croco Collection is really getting snapped up by celebs. At the February 7 premiere of "Daddy's Little Girl", one of the movie's stars, GABRIELLE UNION, sported yellow gold and diamond jewelry from the German designer's crocodile-skin-inspired collection.

ANGELA BASSETT'S red dress wasn't the only fashion accessory giving off heat as the actress wore oval 20K yellow gold earrings set with diamonds from COOMI'S Eternity Collection at the Heart Truth: Red Dress Collection at The Tent at Bryant Park. Bassett also wore a hand-made 22K gold filigreed Lace Collection cuff from MAYA JEWELS.

January was red-carpet season, starting with the 64th Annual Golden Globe Awards. PENNY PREVILLE got an early start to adorning celebs when she held a trunk show at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. FELICITY HUFFMAN and HAYDEN PANETTIERE were among the actresses sporting pieces from the new collection, which features as its signature piece an 18K diamond pavé open-scroll cuff bracelet.

At the Globes, ANGELINA JOLIE chose to wear 22K gold drop earrings and a necklace and bangle bracelet from rising-star designer BOCHIC. More than $10 million dollars worth of platinum jewelry was on display at the event, with socialite KATHY HILTON accounting for 10 percent of that with a platinum evening jacket made with 2,000 diamonds (300 carats TCW) from LAZARE KAPLAN. Not too far behind her was "Weeds" star MARY LOUIS PARKER, who wore $600,000 worth of platinum and diamond bracelets, rings, and earrings from NEIL LANE.

The red carpet wasn't stored away for long before it was time for the Screen Actors' Guild Awards on January 28. KWIAT was there to hand out stars to the stars. "Grey's Anatomy's" CHANDRA WILSON opted for diamond and platinum earrings, a bracelet, a ring, and a necklace from Kwiat's Star Collection. "Don't Let Me Down" star ADRIANA BARRAZA, meanwhile, was dripping in DAMIANI. The actress favored Damiani's Ragnatella Collection - specifically a platinum and diamond necklace and earrings as well as other matching 18K white gold and diamond jewelry. But the real head turner was actress CATE BLANCHETT, who showed up wearing a pair of antique old-mine-cut diamond stud earrings, each one weighing in at 2 carats, from FRED LEIGHTON.

ESSICA ALBA had all the angles covered when she wore a cute pair of earrings from SONYA OOTEN to the Rickard Shah Benefit at the Los Angeles Boutique Iconology on January 24. The 14K gold Imperial Triangle Cap earrings were set with mine-cut smoky quartz.

And there was thunder Down Under when EVA MENDES made an appearance at the 42nd Die Goldene Kamera Awards in Australia on February 1. Mendes wore an oversized black onyx ring from TITO PEDRINI'S Artigle Collection. The ring features the designer's signature 18K gold claws.
